Have you ever wanted to make a rustic stick chair?
Well now is your chance to make a rustic stick chair at Cobble Hey Farm & Gardens.
How you will do this
You will select the pieces you will need with the help of our tutors for the back legs, the front legs and the rails – sounds exciting! Then with the help of the tutor you will cut them to the correct length using shave-horse and draw-knife skills – don’t worry you will be shown exactly what to do. Once you have done this you will assemble the chair – it is your choice whether you leave the bark on or remove it – remember this is your chair.
You can make the seat solid wood or you can leave it to be woven the choice is yours – doesn’t this sound exciting!

Here is a photo of what you might make – please note this is just an image
Just think you will have this chair that you made for your lifetime and also could be something that you passed down the generations – what a thought.
So if you love working with your hands and learning new skills this is just up your street. Or do you know someone who would love this as a present? Maybe a birthday, anniversary, wedding or just a nice gift!
You could combine this event with staying at one of my holiday rental cottages which are both in the amazing Ribble Valley. Both cottages are a minute walk away from award winning eateries. School House Cottage is near The Parkers Arms and Church View Cottage is near La Locanda – how good can it get – learning a new skill and also relaxing with an amazing meal and a pint of local beer or a glass of wine!
